A Question, an Answer is a photographic work developed in response to music by Tobias Hume, performed by violinist Stefano Zanobini on the viola d’amore. The photographs are made while listening, with attention to rhythm, repetition, and pause.
Music and photography remain distinct. The images do not illustrate the compositions but are sequenced in relation to their temporal structure, allowing correspondences to emerge without direct translation.
The work is organized into chapters that alternate density and restraint, reflecting shifts present in the musical material.
